Adventure Awaits

Hello!  I got the new Lawn Fawn release this weekend and have been just itching to get down to my Zen Den to play with some of the goodies.

When I saw the little mice with their maps and binoculars, I had to do a safari themed card.  I love how two of my little friends climbed up on top of the card to get a better look.

For the blue sky background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Uncharted Mariner along with the Cloudy Stencil.  For the foreground, I cut brown cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Border and then touched up the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.  I also did a little bit of splattering on the ground with watered down ink to create a little more dimension.

For the foliage at the top of the card, I used the Tropical Leaves Backdrop but I cut all of the leaves off at the bottom and about three quaters of the way up from the bottom.  The card would have been too busy if I had left them all on.  I cut them from Algae Cardstock and then blended a little Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide on the edges to soften them up.

The "bushes" that the leopards are hiding in are cut from a dark green cardstock using the Slimline Tropical Leaves Border.  The other little plants on the ground are some left over pieces that I had from the Desert Canyon Backdrop.

The images were colored and die cut from It's A Bird, Car Critters and Toucan Do It.  They were colored in the following Copic colors:

  • G21, YG63, G94
  • Y11, Y08
  • YR31, YR14, YR18
  • C2, C5, C9
  • RV91, RV93, RV95
  • E40, E41, E42, E43, E44
  • R20, R21
This was such a fun little card to make - I just love it.  I hope you have been inspired to make a card of your own.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope an adventure is waiting for you!!!

Sandy
