Have A Happy Spring

Oh my goodness, spring is so close.  I created this card for the current Lawn Fawn Challenge #191 - Spring Fling.  While I usually think pastel colors, eggs and bunnies when I think of spring, I always forget that there are spring showers.  These little guys are taking some shelter under an umbrella to get out of the rain.

The background on this card is ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks in Tea Dye, Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner.  Once the inking was dry, I used the Rainy Sky Stencil with some Lawn Fawn Yeti Ink to place some very subtle raindrops.

I cut the cattails using the Cattails Border Die from Algae Cardstock.  I added some shading using Copic markers in the same colors that I used for the frogs and log.  The pond is cut from Mermaid Cardstock using the Bayou Backdrop Die.

The umbrella is cut from Guava Cardstock and Frozen Lemonade patterned paper.

My little friends, log and lily flowers are cut from the Toadally Awesome stamp and die collection and colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

·       G43, YG67, G94

·       Y04, Y17

·       R21, R22

·       E16, E25, E79

In order to give my card a little dimension, I popped up the raindrops, frogs and lilies using foam dots.

This was a fairly quick card to make and what I liked best about it, is that the coloring is simple and doesn't require a whole lot of markers.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a dry spring.
