Sorry You're Feeling Waffle

This cute card is made from a die set by Trinity Stamps call Toaster Card Die Set.  This set has a toast card in it but I wanted to do a waffle popping up instead.  My boys probably ate a million Eggo's growing up so I know I used my toaster more to warm up waffles than I ever did toast.

To make the waffle card, I used the Clean Cup Layers: Circle Set A to cut out the waffle and to make the actual card.  To make the card, I cut a strip of cardstock 4" x 8" and scored the paper at 4".  I folded the strip in half and then placed the circle die just off the edge of the fold so that when it was sent through the die cut machine, the left side remained intact.

The waffle is cut from an ivory color cardstock using the same circle die.  I used the Layered Waffle Stencil set to lay in the ink colors.  I used Tea Dye and Rustic Hinge Distress Oxide Ink for the waffle.  The stencil was larger than the die cut circle, so I just centered the stencil over it and then inked it.  For the syrup, I laid that layer on top of the waffle and inked in Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink.   To make the butter pat, I used the stencil with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink on a scrap piece of white cardstock, then I added the highlight using Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  I cut the butter pat out and glued it on top of the waffle.  You could stamp anything on the inside of the card or just leave it blank.

Once I had my toaster cut and glued together, I used the Build A Banner for the letters that made the sentiment "Sorry You're Feeling".  The word "Waffle" was cut using the Henry's ABC's die set from Lawn Fawn.

I placed the toaster on a 5" x 5" piece of patterned paper and then adhered that to a piece of cardstock cut to 5.25" x 5.25".  I added a few sparkle spots and some white gel pen accents to finish the card.

Who doesn't need a get well card this time of year?

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a happy and healthy day!

Sandy
