The Full Moon has risen!

 

I was intrigued with Lawn Fawn's Full Moon die and thought that I would make a quick card using that as the focus of the card.

I started with blending a background with Ranger's Distress Oxide in Villainous Potion, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron. I used Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Smooth for the paper. I really like this paper for blending both the Distress Oxide Inks and Copic Markers.

I decided to add some Lawn Fawn Glow In The Dark Stencil paste with the Lots of Stars stencil. It was my first attempt at using the paste and I definitely need to play around with that a little bit more.

  I cut the moon from Dolphin cardstock. I wanted a little bit more color on the moon and was hoping to pick up a little bit more of the embossed craters, so I lightly inked the moon with Pumice Stone keeping the concentration of the ink toward the outside edges. In order to give it a little bit of dimension, I used my blender that had a very minimal amount of Black Soot ink left in it from a previous project. Once again, I kept the concentration of color to the outside of the moon. Be careful because a little of the Black Soot goes a long way.

I cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait and the Village Border out of black cardstock. I trimmed down the village to fit behind and up to the tree trunk. I used yellow cardstock for the windows and the bats features. For the bat, I just cut a second bat body and then trimmed it down to fit behind the head and then glued it in.

I felt like the bat needed a little extra definition, so I took a Q-tip and brushed Pumice Stone on the edges of bat wings and body.

  And as usual, I like to add a little bit of something to the inside of the card. The sentiment and the Bat are from the Fangtastic Friends stamp set.
