Happy Thanksgiving a few days late! Back again with those cute little Mice On Ice from Lawn Fawn. I created this card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 137 - Holiday Critters. When I think of Christmas, I always think about the unusual ornaments that my Grandmother used to have. I love the Stitched Ornament die set, so I decided to incorporate them in my card. I also wanted to use paper from the Let It Shine paper collection from 2021. I used the light blue paper from my 6x6 pad. I wanted to capture the stitching on the outside of the ornament shape so I laid them out on the paper and ran them through my Big Shot.
In order to get my mice in the right spot on the ornament with background shading, I cut the ornament shapes in a piece of scrap paper and then stamped the mice where I wanted them. I order to ink the background, I had to cut masks for each of the mice.
Once I masked them, I was able to blend the background with Distress Inks and speckle the design with some silver watercolor paint.
Once I placed the "scenes" behind the appropriate ornament I added the ornament hangers and other decorations cut from the die set. Initially, I was going to use silver glitter paper but it got totally lost on the background paper. I decided that the red glitter paper would highlight the little scarves on the mice.
The copic markers used for the project are; R00, R30, N0, N1,N2
Thanks for stopping by!
