Simply Santa

I love the lodge look of Simply Stories - Simple Vintage Lodge Collection. I think my favorite pattern from the 6" x 8" paper pad is the red, green and black plaid. I also really like the pieces from Simply Stories - Simple Vintage Lodge Collection - Ephemera - Bits and Pieces.

Even though there is a smaller version of the Santa on this card included with the Bits and Pieces pack, I wanted to make the Santa the focal point on my card. So I fussy cut him out of the patterned paper and layered him on a piece of lighter green paper and then fussy cut it again. I placed the Santa to the left of a red piece of paper cut it to 4" x 5.25". I added a 1" x 3.75" piece of my favorite plaid paper to the right side.

I felt like the card needed a little texture and dimension. I put a couple of eyelets in the plaid paper and threaded a beige twine through and tied it in a bow. I popped up the word Santa and the Snowflake from the Bits and Pieces pack. I wasn't able to use the whole snowflake because it just felt like too much, so I cut the top off and placed it in between the plaid strip and the Santa cut out.

I used a standard sentiment in the card. I always like to add a little something from the front on the inside to tie it all together.

Wishing you a blessed Christmas season and all the best for the New Year.
