Sending Hugs From Colorado

Hello friends. Just a quick one for this weekend. I created this for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #143 - Show Us Where You Live. I am a Colorado Native and there are two things that are a constant; beautiful blue skies and mountains. For the most part, we also have four very distinct seasons, so that is what I tried to convey in my card.

The dies that I used are the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait, the Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables and the Everyday Sentiment Banner. The stamp sets I used were; Over the Mountain Borders, Here For You, Butterfly Kisses, S'more The Merrier, Snow One Like You and Let's Go Nuts.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Love Shack

Bang...Bang...Bang on the door baby!

I know I am probably dating myself but the song Love Shack by the B52's has been playing in my head all day.

For this card I used Lawn Fawn's Build A Cabin cut from Pink Pastel Shimmer cardstock. All the house trim is cut from Red Holiday Sparkle cardstock. I used Finley's ABC's for the lettering.

I wanted the door to be a different color, so I cut the door out of Pixie Sparkle cardstock and then used the heart die from the Build A Cabin to cut out the door below the window. The extra hearts are from the Heart Garden Border die. I filled in the windows and door opening with some scrap Pearlescent Vellum.

I also though that the "logs" on the cabin needed some definition, so I used a copic R32 and drew along the lines to accomplish it. I also used the marker to color in the bricks on the chimney.

For the inked background, I blended Spun Sugar, Pickled Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo Distressed Oxide. I used the Falling Hearts stencil and used the Pickled Raspberry for the first layer of hearts and then the Kitsch Flamingo for the second layer of hearts. This color combination is to yummy!

For the inside of my card, I stamped the sentiment from Better Together and the notes from Critter Concert.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have an awesome day!

Beach Day!

Hello friends! I have been thinking about a way to incorporate the mice in a swimming scene. I had played around with a number of different things and nothing was working out. As I was putting away my Peek A Boo Pop Up Die, I got to messing around with it and thought about using it for a beach scene. It worked! I just love when that happens.

I used the Stitched Wave Border for the top on the front part of my Peek A Boo Pop Up. I used the Ocean Wave Stencils with Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio. I used the Hillside Stencils for the sand on the beach using Distress Oxide in Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.

For the background, I wanted a sun. The moon nighttime sky stencil was too large, so I made my own stencil from a circle cut from a scrap piece of cardstock. The sun was inked in Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade. I used the Cloudy Stencil with Tumbled Glass for the clouds.

For the different elements of the scene, I kind of went crazy shopping my stash. I used; On The Beach, Pool Party, Life Is Good, Dandy Day, Crazy Antics, You Autumn Know, Bubbles Of Joy, Fintastic Friends, Simply Celebrate Spring, and Wavy Sayings.

Once I knew where I wanted to put my little mice in the water, I used the Ocean Wave Accents to cut openings to slide them into and then I used Stickles to highlight the waves.

This little card just makes me giggle. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by!

Yummy Bunny!

Hello! It is a cold and snowy day in Colorado today so I am looking forward to the spring and things greening up again. I wanted to make another interactive card for the current Lawn Fanatics Challenge #142 - Interactive so I decided to use the Peek A Boo Pop Up Die and the Build-A-Basket: Easter. I thought that it would be fun to have the chocolate Easter bunny be the interactive part of the card.

For the background I went for my favorites; the Cloudy Stencil and Tumbled Glass Distressed Oxide.

I cut the sun out of some scrap plaid paper from one of the past petite plaid collections with the Spring Showers Die. The same with the word "Easter"'', it is also from a past petite plaid collection. For the word, I used Finley's ABC's. "Happy" comes from the Happy, Happy, Happy Add-on: Family. For the eggs, I used both Shimmer Cardstock in Pastel and Tropical.

Now that I am looking at the pictures, I think that I should have added more to the Easter basket but sometimes less is more. However....................... I don't know.

Thank you for stopping by!

Chip! Chip! Hooray!

Hello and Happy Valentines Day! I am about Valentines out so I created this card for Lawn Fanatics Challenge #142- Interactive Cards. Once again, the little mice are a part of my design. These little guys are just having so much fun making and eating those chocolate chip cookies.

For this card I used the Magic Picture Changer, Magic Picture Changer Add On, and the Magic Picture Changer Oven Add On dies. I cut the oven out of white, silver and black shimmer cardstock - neutrals paper pack. I did add a small piece of acetate for the "glass" on the oven door. I used Oliver's Stitched ABC's to cut the "Hooray" out of Chili Pepper cardstock.

I just got the new Ranger's Lost Shadow Distress Oxide so I used it with the Brick Stencil for the background. This color is such a nice soft gray.

The mice are from You Autumn Know and A Creature Was Stirring. The cookies are also from A Creature Was Stirring. For the thought bubbles, I used Say What Pets and the letters from Claire's ABC's.

I had initially wanted to just have three dials on the pull tab but found that it was difficult to grab even though it was popped up so I decided to add a twine string to use.

This was such a fun card to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Make A Wish

Oh my goodness, look at this funny guy with an oven mitt on his head! I think this is such a cute stamp set especially for a friend that likes to bake. This stamp is from Trinity Stamps and it is called, Make A Wish.

I decided to do this little fella on an ink blended background. I stamped him on my paper and then masked him off with Brutus Monroe Masking Paper. The stencils I used are from Lawn Fawn. For the Hillside, I used the Hillside Stencils with Ranger's Distressed Oxide in Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. For the grass, I used the Grassy Hillside Stencils using Distressed Oxide colors, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. For the sky, I used the Cloudy Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distressed Oxide.

Usually, when I color, I will do several at a time. So I made an additional card. I die cut the design and used some scrap paper that I had that coordinated with my colors. For that card, I popped up the design, sentiment and hearts with some foam dots.

The Copic colors that I used are:

  • Gnome Nose:
    • E00, E11
  • Hat & Gloves:
    • B00, B01, B02
  • Shoes:
    • E31, E37, E57
  • Oven Mitt:
