A Work Of Art

Hello friends. I think that one of my favorite dies from Lawn Fawn is the Magic Picture Changer. It is just magical the way it works.

For this card, I used Eggstraordinary Easter and Eggstraordinary Easter Add On. For the "front" picture, I stamped the bunny from the Add On set, masked it and then stamped the blank egg so it appeared that the bunny was in front of the egg. I like how he is just a bunny and his egg.

I have been working really hard this year to start using paper that I have purchased over the years. The plaids that came out a few years ago just scream Easter to me. The base of the card is Ballet Slippers Cardstock and the scalloped trim around the magic picture is the pink from the Shimmer Cardstock - Tropical.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an "eggstraordinary" day.

The Spirit of Encanto

We may not talk about Bruno, but we definitely can talk about the Family Madrigal's magical casa.

This card was inspired by the Disney movie Encanto. I obsoletely fell in love with everything about this movie; the music, characters and the colors. It was just delightful.

For this card, I tried to use only die cuts and ink blended paper, I did however, use a stamp for the sentiment and to add a little dimension to the trees and bushes.

The the background, I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Blueprint Sketch for the sky and for the cobblestone, I used Tea Dye and Aged Mahogany. with the stencil from the Hive Five Card kit released on June of 2022.

For the house, I used Antique Linen and speckled it with Vintage Photo for the body of the house, Cracked Pistachio for the windows and doors, and Tea Dye for the roof. I used pieces from Build A House, Build A House Spring Add On, Build A House Gingerbread Add On, To add a little dimension and interest to the house, I used a variety of Copic markers to highlight the roof tiles, doors, shutters and the door and window frames.

I felt like a needed to add a little more color to the card, so I used the bush pieces from the Meadow Backdrop: Portrait . For the tree pieces, I used Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry. For the bushes, I used Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord.

The sentiment is from Happy Village. The card base is Mermaid cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Eggstra Special

Hello Friends! This is totally not the card I set out to make this morning. It is funny how things work out that way. I had planned to put some Easter bunnies on it and I even stamped and colored some, but they just weren't right, no matter how much I wanted them to be.

I used paper from the Spiffy Speckles Petite Paper Pack and just did a little ink blending to soften the edges. For the sky background, I used Prize Ribbon Distress Ink on the white with blue speckles. For the grass edges, I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on the blades of grass.

The dies that I used are; Meadow Backdrop: Portrait, Canvas & Easel, and Art Supplies.

I really like the wat the little eggs came out. I used an oldie but a goodie, Mini Easter Eggs.

For the inside of the card, I used the sentiment from the new Eggstaordinary Easter Add On.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

What's Shakin' This Easter?

This weekend I worked on a little Easter card using Lawn Fawn's new collection, Eggstraordinary Easter. There are so many cute pieces in this set that it was hard to choose just one for the center of my shaker card.

I inked the background using the Lawn Fawn Clippings; Grassy Hillside Stencils using Distressed Ink in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. For the sky, I used the Cloud Background Stencils with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distressed Ink.

I always struggle with shaker cards but this time I took the time to cut out six of of white card stock to create a real sturdy base. I am really happy with the way this came out and I am really glad that I took the time to do it. Once I had all my layers glued together, I put my little shaker elements in and sealed it with a piece of acetate. For the front of my card I used a plaid collection that Lawn Fawn did a few years ago. I used the Outside In Easter Egg Stackables and Easter Egg Frames.

The stamp sets that I used are; Eggstraordinary Easter, Eggstra Amazing Easter, Easter Before and Afters and Butterfly Kisses.

This card just makes me think of Spring! Happy Easter and thanks for stopping by.

Beep! Beep! #HBD

Hello friends! It has been awhile since I have worked on any cards. I spent an amazing week in Westport, WA with a good friend. It was cold, rainy and just perfect. It took me a couple of weeks to catch up before I could find some time to get to my playroom.

I created this card for the Lawnfanatics Challenge #144 All Things Birthday. I am not loving this card and I think it is because of the colors on the mountains. I also messed up stamping the "Beep! Beep!" on the card so I had to find a fix for that - I am not crazy about the use of the clouds but I didn't want to "throw the baby out with the bathwater" as they say, so this was the end product.

I love Lawn Fawn Clippings (stencils), they make it so easy to ink and mask. However, I did have to create my own mask for the road. The stencils I used were: Hillside Stencils, Mountain Stencil, the new Cloud Background Stencils.

I used Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the ground. For the road, I used Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. The mountains are Pine Needles and Chipped Sapphire. The sky is Tumbled Glass for the main color and one layer of the clouds and Salty Ocean for the other cloud layer.

The stamp sets I used are Car Critters, Car Critters Add On, Elfie Selfie for the cake. I used the balloons from the Elephant Parade Add On and Claire's ABC's for the "Beep! Beep!". The die cuts that I used are Oliver's Stitched ABC's, Spring Showers,

I really like the new Cloud Background Stencil and can't wait to play with it some more.

I hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks for stopping by.
