Hello Sunshine

Hello again! I hope you are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend. It is going to be pretty low key for us.

I am still playing with all the new goodies from the Mini May Lawn Fawn release. These two cards were pretty quick to make because I used the scraps from each one to create them. Sometimes I forget that less can be more.

For the Sending Sunshine Card, I used the Giant Hello Sunshine die along with the Outside In Stitched Sun. The sentiment is from the All The Clouds stamp set. I cut the "hello" part off the die so I could change the sentiment. I think this card could be used a number of different ways.

The the next card, I used the complete Giant Hello Sunshine die filling in the letters cut from the previous card. I used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames. I cut out some flowers from the Spring Flowers Backdrop from scrap paper also.

At the beginning of the year, I set a goal to start using some of the tons of patterned paper. For these two cards, I used the Spring Fling paper from a previous release from Lawn Fawn.

I hope you were inspired by these cards. Have a great holiday weekend.

Just Plane Awesome

Hello!

Just a simple quick card today using the newly released Just Plane Awesome from Lawn Fawn.

These little guys are just so adventurous and brave that I felt confident that they could handle the breeze with the Stitched Windy Backdrop. LOL

The lettering is done with Henry's ABC's and Henry Jr.'s ABC's.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! You're just plane awesome!

Everything Is 'Smore Fun With You

Hello again! Staying with the evening scenes, I made this card thinking about all the times we went camping with the boys during the summer. However, we don't have fireflies in Colorado. I have only seen them one time in my life and that was when I was in Missouri during the summer. They are so delightful.

I inked the night sky with Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide. I speckled it with silver metallic paint.

For this card, I used the Build A Cabin die cut with Light Brown Woodgrain, Barn Red and Sunflower cardstock. The mountains were cut with the Stitched Mountain Borders using Narwal cardstock. The ground was cut with the Stitched Hillside Borders using Noble Fir cardstock. The trees are cut from the Stitched Hillside Backdrop - Portrait using Noble Fir cardstock. The mountains, hills and trees were all touched up and speckled with Black Soot Distress Oxide.

I stamped the critters from the 'Smore The Merrier stamp set. The fireflies are actually ants from the Crazy Antics set. I drew little wings on them, but they are still a little large. For the little trail behind the one firefly, I used the Trails Hot Foil Plate with gold glimmer foil. I used the sentiment from the Love You 'Smore stamp set.

I hope you and your families get the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors this summer. Thanks for stopping by.

It's Time For Fireworks

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I was so excited when Lawn Fawn released the Fireworks Hot Foil Plate. With Memorial Day coming up and then the 4th of July, I thought I would do a little evening picnic scene.

For the sky, I used Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Ink. Even though I have the dies to cut the fireworks out, I decided to hot foil them directly in the sky. I hot foiled the two red fireworks first, then the silver and then the blue. It's hard to see the blue fireworks in the upper right corner for the angle of the picture. I hot foiled the smallest firework in red on acetate to try to make the sparkler that the little mouse is holding. I had to do quite a bit of trimming and then I glued a little glitter start to cover the white on the little bubble wand he is holding.

I used the Little Picket Fence Border to cut the fence out of Narwal cardstock and then added a little bit of Black Soot ink to give it a little dimension. I used the Stitched Hillside Pop Up to cut the hills from Noble Fir cardstock touched up and speckled with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I used a number of stamp sets for the elements in this card: Crazy Antics, Happy Hugs, Bubbles Of Joy, and apple-solutely awesome.

Don't they just look like they are have just the best time? I am looking forward to summer gatherings. Maybe not the fireworks because it is so hard on the animals. Out derpy dog doesn't mind them at all though.

Here's to a fun summer of family and friends!

Up In The Clouds

Heads Up!!! There are mice in the air.

I just got my order from the latest Lawn Fawn Mini May Release. I was really excited to add some more mice to my collection, in addition to some new hot foil plates.

For this card, I used the Platform Pop Up Die, the Platform Pop Up Cloud Inserts and the Platform Pop Up Cloud Wrap. I used the Cloudy Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to ink the wrap around. I also added a little of the ink to the clouds on the inserts to give them some definition.

I cut out two of the cloud inserts and then cut one of the to use for the first and second layer. I also used the Spring Showers die for the sun using Sunflower cardstock.

I was excited to try the new Stitched Trails Hot Foil Plates with clear acetate and Cobalt Blue Gimmer Foil.

The mice are from the new Just Plane Awesome stamp set and the sentiment is from the Plane and Simple stamp set. That one seemed to work just a little bit better for the sentiment because it was larger.

This sure was a fun little card to make. I can't wait to give it to some little guy to celebrate his awesomeness.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Hooray It's Summer!!!

Hello friends. I finally took a break from the bees to make a card for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #149 - Dies Only.

I wanted to do a popsicle with some summery colors or one that might taste like summer.

I used Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry for the ink blending and then speckled it with some gold metallic water color. For the popsicle, I used the I Scream, You Scream die.

I used the Tropical Shimmer cardstock for the GiantHooray and It's Summer Sentiments. I used Claire's ABC's for the It's Summer sentiment, which I embossed using black embossing powder.

As I was working on my card, I remebered that I had some little sparkles that would be perfect for this card, so I decided to make it a shaker card.

I am so glad that summer is just around the corner, how about you?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day.

What's The Buzz?

Hello and happy Wednesday friends!

Yes, I am still playing this the bees. This was a fairly quick card because I had all the little pieces colored and cut out. The only thing that took a little time was cutting out the letters.

For this card, I used the Woodgrain Background Hot Foil Plate with No. 2 pencil cardstock and Polished Brass Glimmer Foil.

The stamp sets that I used are Hive Five, Fairy Friends, and Wood You Be Mine. I used Henry's ABC's to die cut the letters from Black Licorice and Storm Cloud cardstock.

I popped up the bees, bee hive and the tree stump with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Just Buzzing By To Say.....

Hello friends. I can't Bee-lieve I am still making cards with bees on them. I have just had so much fun coloring them, that I had all kinds of little bees and other elements left over.

For this card, I used the Reversed Stitched Scalloped Circle Die Cut to cut an opening in a sheet of patterned paper. In retrospect, I wish I would have done a little of ink blending on the edges but It is so busy, the edges don't seem too harsh.

I used Henry's ABC's to cut out the letters. I used Stormy Cloud under Black Licorice cardstock.

The stamp sets that I used are, Hive Five, Fairy Friends, and Wood You Be Mine.

I think the tree stump from Wood You Bee Mine, makes the perfect little stand for the bee hive.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a nice spring.

Happy Bee-Day

Hello again friends. Hope you are having a "hap-bee" day.

With the re-release of Lawn Fawn's Hive Five stamp set, I was inspired to not only use my stamp set for the first time but also the Pop Up Platform Die for the first time. Goodness, I don't know why I haven't used it before now.

For the platform I used the Pop Up Platform Die, along with the Platform Pop Up Add On and the Platform Pop Up Hillside Inserts. The stamps sets I used were, Hive Five, Garden Before 'N After, Dandy Day, All the Clouds, Oh Gnome and Apple-solutely Awesome and Berry Special.

I got a little carried away on the height of the card, so I will have to use a little bit larger envelope but I don't think the recipient will mind too much.

I hope this card makes you as happy as it does me. Thanks for stopping by.

Hive Five Birthday Card

Hello Friends! I am so Hap-Bee you stopped by my blog.

I think shaker cards are so fun to give as well as receive that I decided to make this card one.

For the inside of the card, I used the Ripe Banana Spiffy Speckles cardstock and then I used the Honey Comb Stencil with some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide. The outside of the card is the Blueberry Smoothie Spiffy Speckles Paper, touched up with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide.

I wanted to build a scene with the Hive Five Stamp set. I didn't want the shaker element to be too big, so I cut out a section using the Reverse Stitched Scalloped Die. For all the elements in the scene, I used stamps from; Hive Five, Magic Messages Spring, and Magic Messages. As I was building the scene, I wanted to fill in some areas with small bees. For the little bees, I used the smallest ant from Crazy Antics and then drew on little wings. For the little flight trails, I used Little Fireflies and Eggstraordinary Easter. I used Copic Markers for all the coloring.

For the sentiment, I used the Big Scripty Words Hot Foil Plate with Lavender Petals Glimmer Hot Foil from Spellbinders. I wanted to make the sentiment dimensional, so I glued six layers together to bulk it up.

I have been in search of a way to document the Copic markers that I use for the different cards I make. I came across Mona Toth's website, craftbymona.info, and she has some great pintables that work just perfect. I keep a stack handy so when I am stamping and coloring, I just grab one. I find it take me less time to stamp and color the samples than it does for me to decide what markers I want to use. You might want to stop by her page and check them out.

Once I was done with the card, it felt a little dull. I used Stardust Stickles to add some sparkle to the flowers, wings and other pieces.

This was such a fun spring card to make. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

Have A Wheely Great Day!

I created this card for the Lawn Fawn Challenge #148 - Inspired By. Lawn Fawn has a number of extremely talented designers. This particular challenge was to create a card that was inspired by on of the designers. I decided to base my card on one created by Marine Simon.

I love Marine's cards because she creates the most amazing scenes. The card that inspired me was one where she used the Peek A Boo Pop Up Die to create additional space. I think that it is such a creative was to add additional elements in a standard A4 card.

Since summer is just around the corner, I decided to create an amusement park themed card. The stamp sets that I used are, Wheely Great Day, Coaster Critters. Coaster Critters Flip Flop, Village Shops, Happy Village, and Celebration Countdown for the sentiment.

For the background, I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass to lightly shade the sky area. I used the Cloud Background Stencil. For the first layer of clouds, I used a heavier coat of Tumbled Glass and for the second layer, I used Fairy Dust Stencil Paste to add a little bit of sparkle. For the ground, I used Distree Oxide in Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover.

Mine did not come out as spectacular as Marine's, but it sure was a fun way to spend a rainy spring day.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great day!
