Yappy Halloween

Hello friends! My goodness it is hard to believe that July is almost over. Back when the boys were younger we would be trying to fil every last minute of the summer in right now before school started again.

This weekend I finally got a chance to go down to my room to play with some paper. I wanted to do another card with the Lawn Fawn Yappy Birthday stamp set. I had thought it would be fun to dress the dogs up for Halloween. I thought the name of the Happy Howloween stamp set would be perfect combined with the "Yappy" from the Yappy Birthday to make the sentiment. I can't believe how many times this card changed as I was making it, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

The sky was inked with Distress Ink in Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron. For the brick wall, I used Pumice Stone and the Brick Stencil. Even though you can't see the ground, there is one. It is colored with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.

The pups on the top of the brick wall are from Simply Celebrate Critters. I used pieces from Happy Howloween for their costumes, except for the little clown, his is from All The Party Hats. The little candy pails are from Happy Howloween, Costume Party and Spooktacular. The ghosts and the cat are from, Tiny Halloween, Happy Haunting (Retired), and Spooky Village. The spiders are from Fangtastic Friends. The Jack-O-Lantern is from Costume Party.

The bats are cut from the Scalloped Treat Box Haunted House Add On . The tree is the Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait.

I stamped the sentiment from Claire's ABC's and then heat embossed them with black embossing powder.

These little guys look like they are having just the best night trick or treating don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by and as always I sure hope you are having a great day!

Ghostly Greetings

Hello friends! I think that we should do a Halloween In July especially since it is only 100 days until the big day!. I am already on the hunt for new Halloween decorating items. I generally start decorating inside the last week of August into the first week of September. I have been collecting and building a Halloween village for about 20 years now, so that alone takes me two solid days to put up. It currently sits on four 6' x 2' tables. I will post pictures later in the year.

Anyway, Ghosts want to have fun too, so this pair decided to take a trip to the beach in their spook mobile. Their bat friends even came along.

For this card the back ground was inked with Distress Ink in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Villainous Potion and Black Soot for the sky and sea. The beach is Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I used the Beach Sunset Stencil and the Hillside stencil.

The palm trees are from the Christmas Palm Tree and Palm Tree Dies. I cut the light strand from the Christmas Palm Tree for the smaller palm tree.

The car is from Car Critters and the little beach equipment and bike are from Car Critters Road Trip Add On. The little ghosts in the car are from Happy Haunting which I believe is a retired stamp set, but I am sure there are other ghosts that would work also. I drew in the steering wheel and gave the passenger a pair sunglasses. The bat on the car and bats in the sky are from the Tiny Halloween stamp set. The "eeek" on the license plate is also from that set.

The sentiment on the outside and the inside is from the Spooky Village stamp set.

I added glitter accents all over the card using a glue pen and micro glitter.

I had a ton of fun making this card and I hope you have been inspired to make a card for your own spooky outing.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Merry Christmas to Aroooooo!

Hello friends. We are what I would call a "dog" family. We have a dog, Quincy, the Derpy Doo, or Mr. Quincy Jones and take care of our son's dogs, Bjorn and Sam fairly often.

I had Lawn Fawn's Yappy Birthday stamp set on my crafting table and got to thinking that it would make a really cute Pull 'n Pop Pull Tab Christmas Card. This just may be my favorite interactive die. It is quick and easy and packs a lot of punch.

I used the second largest Large Stitched Rectangle Stackable. to cut the moveable panel out of the gray snowflake paper from the 6"x 6" Let It Shine Snowflake Petite Paper Pad. Using the coordinating frame from the Stitched Rectangle Frames, I framed the panel with Narwhal cardstock. For the sentiment, I used the Giant Merry Christmas die and I cut one from Fog and one Storm cardstock. I gave the top half of the letters a little dusting of glitter.

The bottom panel is trimmed with the red stripe paper from the Let It Shine 6" x 6" Petite Paper Pad. The background is the white mini-snowflake paper from the 6"x 6" Let It Shine Snowflake Petite Paper Pad. In keeping with the winter theme, I used the Stitched Simple Wavy Border dies to cut Fog cardstock to make my snow. I used Sandy Beach Accents to cut some more little drifts in the snow.

Other stamp sets used in this card are: Merry Mice, Furry And Bright, Toboggan Together Ugly And Bright and Simply Celebrate Critters. I used Copic Markers for the coloring.

I added some little glitter accents to the snow and all the little elements that I colored.

This was a really fun card to make and I know exactly who I will be sending it to the Christmas.

As always, thank you for stopping by and I wish you the best of everything.

Christmas On The Beach!

Hello! I am dreaming of a beachfront Christmas today. Last year we went to Destin, Florida for a vacation and I fell in love with that place. I am a Colorado native and have gone to the beach a handful of times. In February of this year, I went to the Northwest Pacific Coast with a friend and loved the beach there also. It is amazing how different and beautiful the colors of the two beaches could be.

I really like Lawn Fawn's Build A House die set, so I decided to play around with the new Beach House Add On a few days ago.

For this card, I used a lot of different Distress Oxide inks for not only the background but the card elements. I used white Bristol paper for everything except the house and fence, which is White Woodgrain cardstock. I did use gold holographic paper for the Christmas lights.

I thought that I had the Christmas Palm Tree die, but unfortunately, I didn't so I used the string from the Outside In Stitched Balloon Stackables, the large raindrops from the Rainy Backdrop for the little lights and the Palm Trees die.

The additional die sets that I used are: Build A House Christmas Add On, Scalloped Treat Box Beach House and Build A House Spring Add On.

For the sentiment, I used Winter Big Scripty Words Hot Foil Plates with Gold Glimmer Hot Foil.

While this card was a wee bit time consuming, it was really fun to play with the different inks to see what different color combinations I could come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are enjoying you summer and hopefully a trip to the beach is included.

From Our Hive To Yours

Hello and Merry Christmas .....in July. We have finally gotten to the real hot season here in Colorado, so it is nice to think about the cooler days that come with Christmas.

I created this card for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 153 - Christmas In July.

I wanted to use the Snowflake Background Hot Foil Plate for the background. I used Opal Glimmer Foil, but you can't really see the shimmer from the picture, it is very subtle. I inked the background with Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers. I did spritz it with a little water to add some dimension.

For the Magic Iris Beehive Add On, I inked the shape with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold. I speckled it with white acrylic paint and some thinned Dried Marigold.

I used sprigs from the Christmas Garland dies for the wreath around the hive opening. I cut those pieces from Holiday Sparkle and Pixie Dust Cardstock.

I cut the letters from Henry's ABC's using the Pixie Dust Cardstock. The tree in the middle of the hive is from Snow Globe Scenes. The bees are from the Hive Five stamp set. This little hats and the candy cane are from Ugly and Bright. The little package bundle was from Toboggan Together.

I think that if I were to make this card again, I would have bumped up the hive with form foam squares to give it just a little bit more dimension.

I used Simply Winter Sentiments for the inside along with the "from the whole hive" sentiment from the Hive Five stamp set.

This was a fun little card to make. It had definitely been awhile since I had done anything Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas - a few months early.

Mice Cream Shoppe

Hello Friends! Today we are visiting the Mice Cream Shop. I am entering this card in the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #152 - Fun With Food. These little friends are having such a good time enjoying their summer treats.

For the striped background I used the Skinny Stripes Stencil and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide. For the floor, I used the Honeycomb Backdrop. I used Fog, Ballet Slipper and Black Licorice and then alternated them to create a fun tile floor.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Frames cut from White Woodgrain Cardstock for the bookcase. I cut another frame and then trimmed a couple of pieces to fit the inside for the rectangle for the shelves. I used a Copic marker to give the edges a little definition. The bar behind the stools is also cut from White Woodgrain Cardstock. I trimmed the counter and window sill with a matte silver metallic cardstock I found at Joann's.

For the window, I used the rectangle from the Cake Slice Pie Add On. I used the Shadow Box Card Theater Add On for the curtains. I cut the curtains from white vellum paper and then trimmed them to fit. The little pink vellum bow tiebacks are cut using Outside In Stitched Balloon Stackable.

For the little mice, I used a combination of mice from, Dandy Day, Just Add Glitter, Crazy Antics, and A Creature Was Stirring, The other little "treat" pieces are stamped from, Yeti Or Not. Tea-rrific Day, Tea-rrific Day Add On, Costume Party and Berry Special.

To make the bar stools, I combined the cake platters from Baked With Love and A Creature Was Stirring.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Frames die to cut a frame out of Robin's Egg Spiffy Speckled paper.

There was so much going on on the front of the card that I decided to leave the sentiment off. I used a little of the left over Robbins Egg Spiffy Speckles paper and stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Offset Sayings: Birthday

This card just makes me smile and I hope it does you also. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

You're Totally My Jam

Hello Friends. I hope you are well and enjoying your summer.

This card was actually created to be the front of a Pull & Pop Tab card, but I just didn't like the way it popped. Maybe it was too heavy - I don't know. Anyway, it still makes an adorable card on it's own.

I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables to cut out the yellow gingham paper from the Gotta Have Gingham Rainbow Petite Pack and then layered it on top the the Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.

The jar is from How You Bean? along with the Strawberries Add On and the How You Bean? Shaker Add On. I wanted to make the jar look like a jar, but I didn't want to make a shaker, so I just added a layer of acetate to achieve that.

Even though the stamp set had the sentiment I wanted for the card, I felt it was too small for what I wanted. I stamped the sentiment on Blue Jay Cardstock with Claire's ABC's using white embossing powder.

I used Copic Markers to color in my little friends and elements which came from the Berry Special Stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I used a little scrap yellow gingham paper to carry through the theme. The sentiment is from the Simply Celebrate Hearts stamp set.

I think this is such a sweet card. Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day.

Adventure Awaits

Hello! Hello! I am back again with Lawn Fawn's adventuring Car Critters and the new Car Critters: Road Trip Add On. This little set reminds me about all the times we went camping and fishing with our boys. Those sure were some good times and many memories were made.

I thought it would be fun to create my scene in a snow globe, so I used the Magic Iris Snow Globe Add On for the base of my card.

For the scene inside the snow globe, I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron and the Hillside Stencil for the grass. The Mountain Stencil and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide to create the mountain range. As usual, I used my favorites - Cloudy Stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide for my sky.

I used the On The Road die to make the road and then cut it down to fit. I used the Puffy Cloud Frames to fill in a little bit of the sky and to give it some dimension.

The critters and the car were colored with Copic Markers. I had really wanted to use the little fella with the sunglasses but he didn't have a steering wheel and I really wanted the other little friend to be reading the map, so I settled on the bear.

I wanted it to be dimensional so I built up the outer edges using the Stitch Circle Frames. I cut the snow globe again, using Light Brown Woodgrain Cardstock and them trimmed it to fit at the bottom. I used Fall Fling paper for the snow globe trim and the card background. I also put in a layer of acetate to help create the image of a snow globe. I could made this a shaker card but I didn't want to distract for the simpleness of the design.

The sentiment is Fur-ever Friends. Which was a gift with purchase on their Valentine 2023 release. This would make such a fun anniversary card or a card for that one friend that is so easy to travel with. I left the inside of this card blank, so I can decide whether it will be for an occasion or just a note.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you have some adventures this summer and make all kinds of fun memories.

Sandy

Yappy Birthday

Hello crafty friends! Happy July 1st. It's hard to believe that the year is half way over.

I am still playing with Lawn Fawn's newest dog stamp set, Yappy Birthday,

It isn't very often that I use only one stamp set but that is one of the reason's why I love Lawn Fawn so much, because their stamp sets tell a story by themselves.

It had been awhile since I had used the Stitched Speech Backdrop and the Critter Chatter: Pets stamps so I decided to use them for this card. I think it makes a perfect back drop for these little pups.

I cut the backdrop out of white cardstock and used Sunflower, Chili Pepper, Carrot, Freshly Cut Grass, and Fish Tank to stamp the sentiments.

I used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames to cut out Sunflower Cardstock for the trim around the backdrop and the shaker element.

The images were colored with Copic Markers. I tried to color the white and tan pup like my Grand-dog Bjorn and the other little guy is just who is is. I added a little bit of glitter to a few elements to give it a little pizazz.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I sure hope that you are having an amazing day and a wonderful summer.

Sandy

Spooky Spirits

Hello! Did you know that there are only 120 days until Halloween? Which means it is less than 100 days until October. I start decorating my house for Halloween starting around Labor Day. It is my favorite holiday by far.

I was really excited when Lawn Fawn announced that they were doing a Build A Drink and Build A Cocktail Add On Die Sets. I have always wanted to make a spooky cocktail, so these were just perfect. I went a little crazy with all the little pieces from both sets.

I found some really neat bubbled holographic paper at JoAnn's that was perfect for the "liquid" inside the card. I used scraps of glitter paper for all the little elements. The spiders and large cobwebs are from the Cute Cobweb die and the small bats, ghosts and webs were from Build A House Halloween Add On. The silver stars are from the Hearts And Stars Skinny Tag die set.

For the background I used the Brick Stencil with Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide.

I wanted to have my drink setting on a table, but I wasn't crazy about using a solid paper, so I used the Gingham Backdrop stamp with black embossing powder and then trimmed it with a little strip of paper cut from the Lacy Border die. It was just perfect!

As I was shopping my stash for a sentiment, I came across Purrfectly Wicked and again, it was just perfect. I used black embossing powder on Canned Pumpkin cardstock.

I have a plethora of glitter in my stash and some really fun Halloween ones. I have some purple bats in this one.

This was such a fun card to make.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a great day!

Ta ta for now!

Sandy
