Life Is Beautiful

Hello friends! It is hard to believe that June is almost over.

I got my new stamps from Lawn Fawn's Summer release and had some fun playing with them today.

For this card, I started by inking the background. I started at the bottom using Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide along with the Hillside Stencil. Using the Ocean Waves Stencil along with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, I created the waves where my beach ended. I inked the rest of the background with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide. I took the Moon from the Nighttime Sky Stencil and used it as a mask for my setting sun. Then, I took Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry to blend the rest of the sunset.

I really like the Fireworks Hot Foil plate, so I added a few fireworks using Blush Glimmer Hot foil to add a little pizazz to the sunset.

For the sentiment, I used the stamps from Life Is Good, Swan Soiree and Better Together. I heat embossed the words with White Embossing powder.

I wanted to make tire tracks in the sand so I used a Copic Marker and scribbled them in. As I was doing that, I felt like the sand was kind of bland, so I took the sand stamps from the Life Is Good and added a few little hills. I was so pleased with the way that it looked that I decided to write a "love letter in the sand". I used the heart shape from Scent With Love and the I "heart" You, from You're Just My Type.

I had originally planned to use the little squirrels from Happy Hugs in the sand the word "beautiful" in the sentiment, but it looked weird. I decided to put them in the car looking out the back window at the fireworks. I still needed to put something in the sand, so I colored a couple of surfboards from the Beachy Christmas stamp set.

I like to use acetate for the windshield on my cars but you can't really see it in the picture. The car is from Car Critters along with the Car Critters Road Trip Add On.

I really had a good time making this card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have some fun summer plans.

Sandy
