Porcu-pinning For You In The New Year

Hello my crafty cardmaking friends. Just a few more days until Christmas and only ten more days until a new year. Wow....where did that year go?

It was exciting to have a Lawn Fawn release last week, especially for Valentines day. I don't know about you, I am about over the Christmas theme so this will be the last card for the year. I was so excited this past summer when Lawn Fawn came out with the Fireworks Hot Foil Plates. I wanted to use them more for New Years than I wanted to for the 4th of July. I think they add so much to this nighttime sky background.

For this sky background, I used Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Black Soot. I spattered water on the background and then some metallic silver watercolor paint to add some dimension.

I used Copic colors: R20, E 43, E44, E47, YR30, YR 31 and Y26 to color in the little fellas from Porcu-Pine For You.

I used the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle to cut out the background and for the white snow hill. I used the Simple Stitched Hillside die to cut out the now at about 1.75" at it's highest point. Just high enough to accommodate the numbers comfortably.

For the sentiment and numbers, I used Scripty Happy and Louie's 123's respectively. I gave both of those a little dimension by adding three layers of cardstock under the glitter cardstock. Just enough to bump it up but not to make it difficult to mail.

The stars and the heart are cut from the Hearts & Stars Skinny Tags die. The Porcupines needed just a little something more and while I couldn't believe that I didn't have a champagne glass in any of my stamp sets, I had to settle on some noise makers which were in the Party Animal stamp set. I also colored and cut out some party hats from All The Party Hats stamp sets.

I am happy with the way this card turned out and I hope that you like it also. Wishing you, your families and friends a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This upcoming year, I am going to try to do some You Tube videos of the cards that I make. This is my first attempt. It's a good first try.

Sending Wishes For A Happy New Year!

Hello my card making friends. My goodness Christmas is only a couple of weeks away. Next weekend, we are having our 4th Annual Gingerbread Decorating Party. The guys don't like it too much but they play along with my future daughter in law and I.

I think I am just about done making Christmas cards for this year but I hadn't had a chance to use Lawn Fawn's new Little Snow Globe Bear yet. I thought it would be fun to make it a Reveal Wheel card and use the different holidays we celebrate through the year in the snow globe. I used the Plan On It: Holidays for the stamping in the snow globe. If you look real close at the base of the globe, I wrote in 2024 to date the card.

For the background of this card, I ink blended Prize Ribbon, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink. I cut the Birch Trees from silver shimmer cardstock. The snow has two layers cut from Pixie Dust Cardstock. I used the Simple Stitched Hillside Border for one layer and the other one is cut from Stitched Simple Wavy Borders.

For the other little critters, I used Let's Go Nuts for the little squirrel and Bubbles of Joy for the little mouse. The little hats and horns are from the Party Animal stamp set. The bear's hat is cut from the Stitched Cupcake die.

The sentiment is cut from Happy Happy Happy and Happy Happy Happy Add On.

I am really happy with the way this card turned out and I hope I sparked a new idea for this fun little stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are having a nice holiday season.
