Be My Valentine

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you had a nice Christmas if you celebrated and wish you a safe and happy new year.

I have had some time to play around with the new Lawn Fawn release. I should have been taking down my Christmas decorations but that can wait until next week.

Since I had some porcupines colored from the Porcu-Pine For You Add On left over, I decided to use them for this card. My favorite one is the one facing forward, he's such a little chunk.

To be honest, I have been really intimidated by the Magic Iris die. I tried it when it first came out, and I had such a hard time making it work, that I have been scared to try to do anything with it. However, I was so inspired by the video Kelly did showcasing the Magic Iris Heart Add On that I decided to give it another try. It had never occurred to me that you could stencil on the iris mechanism and I loved the way she did the clouds on the one card. AMAZING!

For this card, I used Ballet Slippers cardstock. I used the Magic Iris die and the Magic Iris Heart Add On to cut out the pieces. If you haven't made one of the these cards before, I highly suggest that you watch the Lawn Fawn's YouTube video and follow along.

I assembled my card and then used the Lots Of Hearts Stencil with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink to stencil hearts all over the card. I speckled the card with some watered down distress ink and opaque white paint.

For the sentiment, I used the Giant Be My Valentine cut from white cardstock. I cut the words apart and the used Copic markers to add a little color to the bottom of the letters. The colors that I used are RV00, RV02 and RV29.

I added hearts cut from the Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag die. I cut them from red glitter and pixie cardstock,

I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to make this card. I guess I just must have had on off day the first time I used the Magic Iris. It's kind of exciting now.... I have a whole bunch of new thinks to try.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Sandy
