Catching All The Treats!

Hello!  I wait all year for the Lawn Fawn Fall/Winter Release because it has my favorite time of year included.  Usually, as soon as I get my orders, I catalog them and then put them in clear envelopes and file them away.  But yesterday, I decided that I just had to do something with the new Sweet Spiders stamp set and the Build A Cauldron before I did anything else.  I totally forgot that there is an Sweet Spiders Add On set, which is unfortunate because I would have had a few more treats to include in my scene.

The background was inked with Distress Oxide Inks inn Villainous Potion, Prize Ribbon and Wilted Violet.  After I was done blending the inks, I spritzed it with water and then speckled it with watered down white opaque acrylic paint.

I heat embossed the sider web from the Sweet Spiders stamp set with silver embossing powder.  I also heat embossed the "Happy Halloween" with white embossing powder and the "I Hope You Catch All The Treats" with black embossing powder.  Both of the sentiments are from that stamp set also.  I love it when that happens!

I used the Diagonal Stiped Border Die for the border at the bottom of the card.  I cut it out of yellow, orange, purple and black cardstock and then pieced in the little slices in the black frame.

All the coloring was done with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • V04, V05, V09
  • YG01, YG07, YG09
  • B04, B12
  • Y02, Y18
  • R20, R21, R22
  • E00, E13, E15, E31, E34, E35
  • YR04, YR09
  • C1, C2, C4, C6, C8
The little mice are from the Whoosh Kites and You Autumn Know stamp sets.  The little pumpkin is from Happy Howl-O-ween stamp set.  I am really pleased with the way this card turned out and look forward to using the set again soon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!

A Spooky Mug Full of Wishes!

This is the first time that I have made a holiday themed mug.  The sentiment on the cauldron is from the Halloween Corners stamp set.  I fits perfectly.

For the orange background I used the Layered Argyle stencil with Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin and Black Soot Distress Oxide.  The background on the oval was created with Lost Shadow Distress  Oxide Ink with the Scattered Bats Stencil.

I cut the mug from the Winter Mug Dies.  The rest of the little pieces are from the Spooky Mug Additions and Big Halloween Cupcake dies.  I love how you can combine the two dies for additional fun.

I am definitely looking forward to making more of theses fun mugs in the future.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Bat Shaker Card

Hello!  Who doesn't love a shaker card?

This card was very easy and quick to make and would be perfect for that special friend.

I like to play around with Distress Oxide Inks and different stencils.  I wanted to use the new Scattered Bats Stencil.  I layered them on top of a background I created using the Deco Leaves Stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink.  I love the blue along with the traditional Halloween Colors.

I used the new Bat Shaker Die and filled it with the Spooky Sky Clay Confetti.

The sentiment was cut using the Spooky Wishes Shadow Die.

I hope you like this card and have been inspired to make one of your very own.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Spooky Halloween Cupcake

Hi there!  I am still having fun creating with the new Pretty Pink Posh Halloween Release.

For this card, I used the new Big Halloween Cupcakes along with the Large Boo Shadow die.

Rather than ink a background, I used some Halloween patterned paper that I have had for quite a while.  I have a rather substantial collection of Halloween papers but I hardly ever use them.  It isn't that I forget, I am always afraid that if I use them, then the absolute perfect project will come along and I won't have it anymore.  It's crazy - I know.

On most of the pieces that I cut from cardstock, I added a little ink to the edges to soften them.

This was a fun card to make and I am looking forward to making some more.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Halloween Train

Hello!  Boy! Oh Boy! Pretty Pink Posh really hit it out of the park with their new Halloween/Fall release.  Everything is so dang cute!!!!

Through out the year, they have been creating train for the different holidays along with one for birthdays.  I love all of them.

For the background on this card, I started with the new Layered Birch Tree stencil, along with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.  I then used their older stencil, Spooky Sky with White Pigment Ink for the clouds and Black Soot Distress Oxide for the bats.  I speckled the background with a little bit of gold metallic paint.

I colored the Halloween Train with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • YG21, YG23, YG25, YG67
  • N0, N1, N2, N4, N7
  • YR02, YR09, YR16
  • Y02, Y08, Y17
  • BG10, BG11, BG13
  • V01, V05, V06, V09
  • B000, B01

Then sentiment is from the new Halloween Corners stamp set.  While I was heat embossing that with black embossing powder, I decided to heat emboss the smoke coming from the train.

This was a really fun card to make and I know the perfect young man to give it to this Halloween.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Batty About You!

Hello! Hello!  It is finally time for all the new Halloween releases!  I wait for these all year long.  Today I have a new stamp collection from Pretty Pink Posh!  This set is called Batty About You!

For the background, I used the new stencil Layered Birch Trees using a light gray cardstock with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.  I also watered down some of the ink to splatter on the background.

I wasn't quite sure what to include in my scene, so I took the cauldron from the Spooky Mug Additions Set.  The bubbles in the cauldron are from the new Big Halloween Cupcake Die.  I colored those with Copic markers and then highlighted them with white gel pens.

For the pumpkins at the bottom of the card, I used the pumpkin from the new Halloween Train stamp set and the pumpkin trio is from the new Halloween Corners stamp set.  The sentiment on the cauldron is also from the Halloween Corner set, which I heat embossed with white embossing powder.

All the coloring was done with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • V01. V06, V06
  • YG25, YG67
  • E34, E35, E37
  • Y02, Y08, Y17
  • YR02, YR09, YR16
  • W1, W4, W7

This was a fun little card to make.  I hope you enjoy it and might have been inspired to create your own.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Happy Birthday

Hello!  Today I have a card that I created for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #178 - Color Inspiration.

When Lawn Fawn has a new release, I try to use, at least once, the items that I have ordered before the next release.  I did pretty good this time, but I still had the gumball machine to use.  I like to make shaker cards, so that is way I decided to do.

For this card, I used the Plaid Stencil using Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks.

I cut the gumball machine out of Black Licorice, Ballet Slippers, Peacock and Guava cardstock.  I spritzed Tim Holtz's Mica Stain in coordinating colors to add some shimmer to the paper.

For the sentiment, I used the Offset Sayings: Birthday stamp set.  I heat embossed them using black embossing powder.

I like the way this card turned out and I think is would be perfect to a pre-teen birthday.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Lawn Fawn Challenge #177 - Christmas In July

I had a card featured on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog.  The theme was Christmas In July.  I went with a Southwestern Vibe using the Desert Critters, Build A Snow Globe and Desert Canyon Backdrop.

It is always thrilling and an honor.

Halloween Dessert Cloche

I think that this is my favorite cupcake from the Spooky Sweets stamp collection by Simon Says Stamp.

For this card, I tried to create a cloche for the cupcake and candy to be displayed in.  I put acetate in the opening to make it look like glass.  I doesn't show in the photo though.

I recently purchased the new Tim Holz Distress Spritz and hadn't had a chance to play with it until today.  I really like these sprays.  I spritzed the magenta colored cardstock with Picked Raspberry and the orange frame with Spiced Marmalade.  These sprays turned my cardstock from just a plain matte color to a lovely shimmery cardstock.  I think I will be using these a lot for the upcoming holiday season when crafting cards.

I gave this little ghost frosting a little bit of facial details like I did in a previous card.  I used Copic markers for the coloring on this card.  The colors I used are:

  • B01, B04, B05, B06
  • T2, T5, T7
  • V01, V04, V06
  • YG00, YG01, YG03
  • Y15, Y19, YR04
  • Y00, Y02, Y04, Y17
  • E13, E17, E18
STAMPS & DIES:
  • Spooky Sweets - Simon Says Stamp
  • Secret Garden Window - Lawn Fawn
  • Quilted Star Backdrop - Lawn Fawn
  • Stitched Rectangle Frames - Lawn Fawn
  • Batty Dies - Whimsey Stamps
I hope this card has inspired you to make your own Halloween Desert Cloche.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Halloween Sweets

Hello again!  I just happened to be looking at the Simon Says website for dies from Whimsy Stamps, and this great Halloween Cupcake stamp set called, Spooky Sweets popped up.  I didn't even think twice about it - add to cart!

These cupcakes were so fun to color!  As I was shading the white frosting, my marker was a little to juicy and it left a huge splotch just under his little mouth - yikes!  I had already colored everything so I was just a wee bit miffed.  Rather that start all over on another one, I just did some additional shading on his face and I turned out really cute.  So that was a happy mistake for sure.

I used Copic markers for to color the cupcakes in the following colors:

  • T2, T5, T7
  • V01, V04, V06
  • YG00, YG01, YG03
  • Y15, Y19, YR04
  • Y00, Y02, Y04, Y17
  • E13, E17, E18
  • B01, B04, B05, B06

I liked the way the cupcakes looked in front of the Slimline Marquee Die from Whimsy Stamps.  I decided to make it a shaker card with each opening  filled with a different colored glitter.  I like to make my shaker cards by layering 5 to 6 pieces of cardstock cut with the same die.  Once I have those layered, I will adhere them to a base, fill the wells with glitter, place acetate on top with the patterned paper on top of the acetate.  Easy peasy.

Once I had my shaker card made, I then glued the cupcakes on top.

That is pretty much all there is to this card,  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
