What's Brewin?

Hello!  Today I am back with those cute Gnomes from Trinity Stamps.  As I have said before, I love Gnomes and my favorite Gnome Stamps are always from Trinity.  This witch brewing up a potion is from the Hocus Pocus stamp set.  I decided to make this card a shaker, because they also released a new Embellishment Mix called Non-Toxic.  It is just the best with the little cauldrons and potion bottles.  And the confetti pieces are perfect for Halloween.

For the background on this card, I used Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Inks.  After I had it inked and blended, I spritzed it with water to give it a little more texture.  For the ground, I used the Simple Stitched Hillside Border die from Lawn Fawn, to cut the grassy area from green cardstock.  I also glued a few little bats on the background to add a little interest in the sky when the sprinkles are settled at the bottom of the card.

For the top of the card, I used the new A-2 Tree Frame Die to "frame out" my card.  I cut this from a medium gray cardstock.  On the edges for the frame, I blended in a little Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink to not only soften the edges, but to  add a little texture to it.

I used Copic markers to color in my little witch with her cauldron in the following colors:

  • T0, T2, T7
  • V12, V15, V05, V17
  • E53, E55, E57
  • Y21, Y23, Y26
  • YG00, YG01, YG03
  • Y11, Y13, Y15
  • Y35, Y38, YR04, YR07
  • B01, B04, B05, B06

Once I had placed my sentiment and Gnome on the card, I felt like I needed a little something in the corners for the card.  I used a few green rhinestones and a few bats.  I also, stamped out another potion bottle for the lower right corner.

I really had a fun time making this card.  I hope it inspires you to create one of your own.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Sandy
