Christmas Dough

Hello!  Today I have a card that I created for a current Lawn Fawn Blog Challenge.  It is Challenge #185-Christmas Critters.  I created this card to put a little "dough" in for Christmas giving.

The background for this card is a piece of Lawn Fawn's Favorite Flannel patterned paper.  I inked up the edges with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink to give it a little dimension.  The floor is cut from light brown woodgrain cardstock, with a little Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink blended on the edges.  The garland at the top of the card is cut from Nobile Fir, using the Christmas Garland die set.  I added a little Rustic Wilderness and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide to the edges of those pieces.

For the pocket on the card, I used the Money Pocket die.  I covered it with a piece of the patterned paper along with a small piece of woodgrain cardstock to follow the the floor line. In retrospect, I would have just cut the pocket from the patterned paper and added just the little floor piece.

The images are from the stamps sets; Sprinkled With Joy and A Creature Was Stirring.  They are colored in using Copic Markers in the following colors:

  • R20, R22
  • R24, R27, R29
  • E30, E53, E55, E57 - mouse
  • E31, E33, E35 - cookies & dough
  • G21, g24, g28
  • C0, C2, C4
  • B000

The sentiment for the card is from Henry's Build A Sentiment: Winter and How You Bean? Money Add On.  I had to clip the sentiment, "here's some DOUGH" in order to add the word "Christmas".  I do that rather often to make sentiments work with particular cards.  I have never had a problem using the sentiment as it was originally intended on future cards.

You could put a gift card in the pocket, however, it will extend past the upper edge of the card which may make it difficult to put in an envelope.  I intentionally made this card to put cash in.  The picture show quite a bit of cash showing, but that was for picture purposes, you can tuck the cash in a bit deeper.

If you would like to see the process of this card, I have a video posted on my YouTube channel.

This was such a fun card to make and the perfect was to gift some cash.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you are enjoying the Holiday Season!

Sandy
