Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder with a Surprise Inside

Hello and happy Holiday Season!  It is the time of year where it might be a good idea to have a couple of gift card holder cards on hand.  Not only is it a gift card holder, it also has a surprise inside.

This was the first time I have used Lawn Fawn's Swivel Surprise die and I am in love!!!!  This is such an easy mechanism to make.  I am quite sure that it will become one of my favorite interactive dies.

For this card, I cut my card base, 4.25" x 11" and scored at 5.5".  I used a sheet of Speckled Eggshell.

The background patterned paper is from the Candy Cane Lane Collection.  I used the Large Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stackable to cut the background paper.  The other patterned paper collection I used is Perfectly Plaid: Christmas.  This is an older collection that is no longer available on their website.

For the front of the card, I cut the gift card holder using the Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder.  The sentiment is from Magic Holiday Messages.  I heat embossed the sentiment using an embossing powder that I picked up a number of years ago from Michaels.  The lid of the coffee cup was cut from Speckled Eggshell Cardstock with the edges touched up with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.

For the inside of the card, I used the Perfectly Plaid: Christmas patterned paper again.

The stamps are from Love You A Latte and were colored with Copic Markers in:

  • BG11, BG13, BG18
  • RV11, RV29
  • E51,  E53, E55

For the little hearts, I inked a piece of white cardstock with my Copic markers and then used the Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag Die to cut out three different sized hearts.  I applied the hearts where I felt that they needed to be to fill in some of the open space.

This is such a cute card that packs so much punch.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!!!!

Sandy
