Rub A Dub Dub

Hello friends!  Today I have another Platform Pop Up card that I made for the current Lawn Fawn Blog - #188 Let's Celebrate.  It had been a very long time since I had used the Rub A Dub Dub stamp set, so that's what I used for my theme.

All the images were colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • BG000, BG01, FBG2
  • BV0000, BV31
  • Y17, YR16
  • YG00, YG01
  • C1. C2
  • Y02, Y06, Y08

Once I had my bubbles cut out and colored, I added a tiny bit of micro glitter to each one to add just a little pizazz!

I built the platform using one of Lawn Fawn's older plaid patterned paper and their Frozen Lemonade patterned paper.  I cut the grass pieces from Green Smoothie patterned paper.

After I attached my little friends and extras to the platform, I cut some thin strips of acetate and glued some of the bubbles to the ends.  I placed the little strips randomly behind the elements on the farthest back layer to give the the appearance of floating.

I have loved making cards using the Platform Pop Up die and have never been disappointed. This card is no exception!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope my card has inspired you to create your own!

Happy Retirement

Hello!  I made this card for the current Lawn Fawn Blog Challenge - #188 Let's Celebrate.

I used the I Heart Pandas and the I Heart Pandas Add On.  To go along with the retirement theme, I thought it would be fun to put the Panda in a hammock relaxing.  I used the Hammock And Trees Die.

For the background, I used the Sunray Stencil and the Ocean Waves Stencils.  The Distress Oxide Inks that I used were Salvaged Patina, Uncharted Mariner, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade.

I used both Landscape and Portrait Bamboo Forest Backdrop trimmed out with a frame cut with the Stitched Rectangle Frames.

The images were colored with Copic Markers in the following colors:

  • G21, YG63
  • RV11, RV34
  • C01
For the sentiment, I used Henry's ABC's and heat embossed it using black embossing powder.

And that is pretty much it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your have a great day!

All My Heart

Hello!  Where does the time go???  Valentine's Day is just a little over a month away.

I love the new little stamp shapes from Lawn Fawn's Little Letter Die along with the new outline dies that have come out for a few of their Scripty sentiments.  For this card, I didn't want it super frilly with the traditional white, red and pink, so I went with just the red and more neutral tones.

For the base of the card, I used Barn Cardstock and the the Lacy Rectangle Stackables.  I cut a piece of Paper Bag cardstock to 3.75" x 5" to place on top of the layer.  I cut the stamps from Vanilla Malt Cardstock to cut the stamps using the Little Letter Die.  I spritzed the stamps with a little Antique Linen Tim Holtz Distress Mica Spray and touched up the edges with the same color of Distress Oxide Ink.

The cross stitched heart was cut from Barn Cardstock using the Embroidery Hoop Die.  I used a three strands of a cream colored DMC floss for the stitching.  To add a little more texture, I added a small bow with Lawn Fawn's Red Hemp Twine.

The sentiment is the Scripty XOXO and Scripty XOXO Outline Add On are cut from the Barn and Vanilla Cardstocks.

The mice are from the Whoosh Kites, Happy Couples and All My Heart stamp and die sets.  The little extra cut out hearts are also from the All My Heart stamp set.  All the images are colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • R17, R27, R39
  • E15, E25, E57
  • R20, R21

Once I had all my little items attached to the card base, I decided that I needed just a few more hearts, so I used the Hearts & Stars Skinny Tag Die to the out of scrap Vanilla Malt Cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome day!

Warm & Cozy Hugs.....or Mugs!

Hello!  I hope everyone is staying warm.  It is getting pretty cold in Colorado now.

I still had my Coffee Mug Card die from Trinity Stamps on my desk from making my Puppy Party card, so I decided to make one more for now.  I hadn't had a chance to use my Cocoa The Gnome stamp and die set yet, so I thought I would whip up a cup of hot cocoa before I put them away and make a window card.

I cut the base from a medium gray cardstock.  I wanted it to be a little sturdier, so I cut out the right side of the mug die, using a lighter color or gray.  I added just a touch of Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide around the edges to soften them.

Using the Cocoa Mug Add On Die, I cut a mug from a piece of patterned paper by Lawn Fawn called Perfectly Plaid:Winter.  The whipped cream and drip are cut from a piece of Cocoa Swirl Bazille cardstock spritzed with a little Frozen Fog Distress Mica Stain by Tim Holtz.  I like to use the different mica stains to add a little shimmer to my paper without using a glitter cardstock.  I also like that color of  Bazille cardstock because it is a really nice soft white color.

For the sentiment on the front of the card, I used the Mini Winter Sayings die set.  The inside sentiment is from the Freezin Family stamp set.  I also used the snowflakes from that set for the snowflakes on the inside of the card.

My little friend was colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • W00, W0, W3, W5, W6, W9
  • B00, BG53
  • E000, E00, E01
  • R20
For the little embellishments, I used a pink and gray shimmer paper for the sprinkles on the whipped cream and the snowflakes on the mug.  The dies that I used for that were from Lawn Fawn's Magic Iris Snow Globe and Pretty Pink Posh's  Big Valentine Cupcake.

This was a really fun card to make.  I hope this post has inspired you to make a Cocoa Mug for yourself.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello friends!  It's Sandy from @SandyCogdillDesigns.  I hope everyone had a nice Holiday Season.  I am re-charged and ready for some new projects.  How about you!

Today, I have a card that was created with some new products from Lawn Fawn.  I am using I HEART PANDAS ADD ON CLEAR STAMPS, I HEART PANDAS ADD ON LAWN CUTS and BAMBOO BACKDROP:PORTRAIT.

I wanted to do a nighttime background, that was coordinate well with the bamboo layer that I was going to put on top.  One of my favorite things to do for backgrounds is do ink blending.  I used PUMICE STONE DISTRESS OXIDE INK, HICKORY SMOKE DISTRESS OXIDE INK and BLACK SOOT DISTRESS OXIDE INK.  I watered down a little SPELLBINDERS SPLATTER WHITE OPAQUE WATERCOLOR and splattered it on the ink blended area.

To give the BAMBOO BACKDROP a little extra color and interest, I spritzed TWISTED CITRON DISTRESS SPRITZ and MOWED LAWN DISTRESS SPRITZ  a lime colored cardstock.  It is really hard to see in the photo, but it has a really nice shimmer.  These spritzes are one of my favorite new things to play with.  I used the larges of the LAWN FAWNS LARGE STITCHED RECTANGLES to cut out my background for the bamboo layer.

Once I had my bamboo backdrop cut out and adhered to my ink blended layer, I used LAWN FAWN - LAWN CUTS - HENRY'S ABC'S to cut out my lettering.  I used two different colors of cardstock to give the letters dimension.  With the letters layered, I adhered them to the backdrop.

I colored my stamped images using COPIC markers in the following colors:

  • W1, W2, W4, W6
  • YG61, YG63, G82
  • RV00

Once I have those colored and cut out, I will place them at the bottom of my card.

I used the sentiment that comes in the stamp set.  I heat embossed the sentiment using the VERSAMARK WATER MARK STAMP PAD and LAWN FAWN BLACK EMBOSSING POWDER on a very light gray cardstock.  For the little speech bubble above the panda's head I used LAWN FAWN - CLEAR STAMP - ALL THE SPEECH BUBBLES and LAWN FAWN - LAWN CUTS - ALL THE SPEECH BUBBLES.

I had some little stars that I had previously cut out of silver glitter paper using LAWN FAWN - LAWN CUTS - HEARTS & STARS SKINNY TAG.

This stamp set makes the cutest belated birthday card.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today and I hope that you have a great day!!!

I Love You So Mush!!!

Hello friends!  Last weekend, I decided to goof around with my Altenew Stampwheel and the Lawn Fawn's - To My Fungi stamp set.

I was able to stamp eight mushrooms around the opening of the Magic Iris Die.  The mushrooms just barely made it to the edge of the Magic Die Add On.

Once I had the mushrooms stamped, I masked them off with mushrooms stamped and cut from Post It Note Label tape.  It might seem like it is a lot of masking, but it went pretty quickly because the shapes are fairly simple.  I used my Copic Airbrush System to color the background with the colors; YG63, YG67 and G28.  I speckled it with a watered down gold metallic watercolor.

The images were all colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • R17, R27, R29
  • YR20, E21, E53
  • B0000
  • B000
  • C1
I cut the mechanism from Tomato Cardstock and stamped the "We're A Perfect Pair" on the closed part of the die.  I had really wanted to used black heat embossing powder on it, but I was worried it would work well with all the cuts, so I used just a regular black ink.  The "Glad You're Mine" and "We're A Perfect Pair" sentiments are a combination of Henry's Build A Sentiment: Love and Henry's Build A Sentiment: Family.

This would make a fun Anniversary or Valentines Day card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Puppy Party Gift Card Holder

Hello!!!!  I am so excited to share this gift card holder with you today.  Our family loves our pups so I am sure that I will have no problem finding someone to give it to.  I bought this stamp this past summer when Trinity Stamps was at the Colorado Scrapbook Expo and hadn't had a chance to use it.  The stamp set is called Puppy Party and the mug die cut is, Coffee Mug Card Die Set.  I had originally set out to just stamp a simple Gnome on the card but this is what happened instead.  I love when that happens!

I cut the mug out of Express It Blending Card paper rather than another cardstock because I knew that I would be doing a fair amount of Copic coloring.  I stamped the pups using my Misti to get a good impression.  Leaving the stamp in my Misti, I stamped the image again on Post It Note Tape to make my mask.  I applied the mask over the image stamped on the mug.

I used my Copic Airbrush System to place the background sky and grassy area.  I used B01 for the sky and YG07 for the grass.  I like to use this instead of ink blending when I have a large area with small pieces and openings masked off.  It is also helpful to be able to use the markers to color any uncolored gaps that might occur.

The image is colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • #1 - E33, E15, E17, E19
  • #2 - W1, W3, W5, W7
  • #3 - YR30, E53
  • #4 - YR30, YR31
  • #5 - YR12, E33, YR16, YR27
  • #6 - E51, E21, E11, E13
  • #7 - N0, N2, N4, N6
  • R1, R20, R21 - Ears & Tongues

On the inside of the card and the card holder, I used the Copic Airbrush system so that the outside and inside would match.  However, once I was done coloring the pups, I realized that my inks had bled through to the inside of the card.  In order to cover this, I cut another card out of cardstock, sprayed it and then trimmed it so that it would fit on the inside covering up the ink that bled through.  Once those pieces were adhered, I was able to glue the card holder in.

The sentiment on the outside and on the inner card holder are heat embossed with black embossing powder.

I just couldn't be happier with the way this card turned out.  Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a Pawsitively Amazing day!!!

My One & Gnomely Light Up Valentines Card

Hello!!!  I am a huge fan of gnomes and my absolute favorites are always by Trinity Stamps.  I am pretty much "over" Christmas, so I thought it would be fun to do a Valentines Day Card using their fun stamp set My One & Gnomely.  I also decided that it would also be a perfect light up card.

For the background on this card, I used Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.  I did a very light layer to color my cardstock and then used the Layered Hearts Background Stencil from Lawn Fawn.  My hearts are also Spun Sugar ink.  I used a little watered down metallic silver watercolor to spatter the paper to give it a little bit of shimmer.

Next I heat embossed the sentiment using Trinity Stamps' Simply Sentimental: Love stamp set along with black embossing powder.  I was a little nervous placing it directly on my newly inked background but it turned out perfect!

My little friends are colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • RV21, RV29, R35, R39 - Red
  • RV13, RV14, RV21 - Pink
  • C1, C3 - Beard
  • Y23, Y32 - Braid
  • E13, E23, E25 - Shoes
  • R00, R11, R20 - Skin
I cut little heart openings above where I was going to place my gnomes.  I used some heart dies from one of my Lawn Fawn sets, but you could use any die from your stash.  I used a small piece of glittered cardstock on the back cardstock base that the front layer was going to be adhered to.  I taped the three little lights at the very bottom of each heart and adhered the push button mechanism on the lower left corner under where I had stamped "Push Here".

Once my lights were in place, I used double adhesive sided foam tape to build up space for the light mechanism to work.  Oh goodness!!!  So Cute!!!

I added a little shading below the Gnome's feet to ground them and then added a few more cut out hears to balance it out.
More details can be found on my YouTube video linked below.

I just love this little card and can't wait to mail it off.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a marvelous day!

PinkFresh Studio's Playful Petals Stencil

Hello friends!  It's Sandy from @SandyCogdillDesigns here  I'm on the ScrapbookPal blog today!

With the start of a new year, it's time to get started on some all occasion cards.  Today I am on the ScrapbookPal Blog, featuring a card made from PINKFRESH STUDIO'S PLAYFUL PETALS CLEAR STAMPS, PLAYFUL PETALS DIES and PLAYFUL PETALS STENCIL.

I stamped and heat embossed the flower bouquet on vellum paper using LAWN FAWN'S GOLD EMBOSSING POWDER and TSUKINEKO VERSAMARK WATERMARK STAMP PAD.  I also stamped and embossed the larger flowers so that I could use the die that would cut out just those flowers to create some dimension on the card.

I used the stencil to color in the flowers using Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors:  SQUEEZED LEMONADE, DRIED MARIGOLD, RIPE PERSIMMON, SALTWATER TAFFY, and  BUNDLED SAGE.

I used the dies to cut out the bouquets and the orange flowers.  I placed the individual flowers in the palm of my hand and pressed with my finger to give them a slight curl.

For the background on this card, I used largest die of the PINKFRESH'S NESTED RECTANGLES POSTAG EDGE DIES.  I didn't have quite the right tone of green cardstock, so I lightly inked BUNDLED SAGE DISTRESS OXIDE INK to achieve the green tone I was looking for.  I used VINTAGE PHOTO DISTRESS OXIDE INK to lightly enhance the postage edge.

I still felt like I need a little more texture so I decided to use VINTAGE PHOTO DISTRESS SPRITZ.  I really like the spritzes because they match the oxide inks and have a little shimmer.  Anyway, I wanted to make sure that I didn't have spatter behind my vellum piece, so I used the die to cut out a piece of scrap cardstock as a mask to keep that area clear.

Because glue and vellum paper don't play well together, I was careful to place tiny drops of BEARLY ART PRECISION CRAFT GLUE behind the colored areas on the paper to adhere it to the background.  I definitely used it very sparingly.  I put a very small dot of glue in the center of each loose flower and adhered them to the card.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on an off white cardstock using LAWN FAWN'S GOLD EMBOSSING POWDER and TSUKINEKO VERSAMARK WATERMARK INK PAD.

Using LAWN FAWN'S LARGE STITCHED RECTANGLE DIE to cut out the very back layer of the background using a apricot colored cardstock.  I also added a few drops of GOLD STICKLES GLITTER GLUE to the center of each large flower and a few to the bottom left corner to balance everything out.

I think this card is just lovely.  I really like the whimsical feel of the flowers.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!!!
